My dh who is also a great speller says no way is it spelt ^^^ like that. We have actually argued about this before when our eldest asked how to spell it. He thought it was hilarious that I was spelling it wrong - I agreed to disagree but knew that I was right
I'm getting unreasonably annoyed that people actually think it's spelled 'dilemna'. WTF??? It's dilemma and I've honestly never seen it spelled the other way. How ridiculous!!!

I highly doubt anyone would actually be taught the wrong spelling at school. They have just been spelling dilemma wrong their whole lives.

Exactly. Just like so many people think it's 'could of' 'would of' 'should of' errrr WRONG! But so many people do it still

Yeah, don't get me started on incorrect grammar! But seriously when people say "I could care less" (instead of the correct "I couldn't care less"), I feel like poking my eyes out with a fork!!

I don't... I clearly remember being in year 1 and correcting my teacher's spelling as she wrote on the board. I'm sure for her it was annoying and embarrassing having a 6 year old correct her, but she would have taught our whole class the wrong spelling of certain words. Not all teachers can spell correctly.

I've never heard anyone say this. Do they mean it in the same context as couldn't?

Another pet hate of mine whilst not written wrong is pronounced wrong - when people say aks instead of ask! It's not that hard!!!

I've had the word dilemna going through my head all night every time I woke up. It's so strange it's consuming me!!

Im in hysterics reading this. There's an actual entire website about this.

    http://www.dilemna.info

I started laughing when the writer mentioned he pronounced it dilem-na!

Thanks @AppleiPhart for starting this all off! I'm still SHOCKED at this. It still is one of the oddest things I've ever heard!

LOL, so am I!! I actually typed out my unreasonable annoyance in a post this morning to reply, but then deleted it because I thought I am getting far too worked up about people who spell stuff wrong.
