    Default Thoughts on boys name....

What are your thoughts on the name Willis for a boy - NN of 'Will'?

DH really likes Will and i'd like to have a formal name for it. Im not a fan of William though.

My first thought is 'What you talkin' 'bout Willis?!'
If you're cool with everyone saying that to him for his whole life, go for it! I think it's funny, but I'm sure some people wouldn't enjoy it.

I like Will but would use William if it were me.

    What you talkin bout Willis?

Sorry, that's all I think of... But I'm from the generation that grew up watching it on tv. Your child's generation will have no idea what that's all about!

    I do prefer William though.

Yeeeeessss ... WE actually say that to our DS now, but I have stopped since this name has been bought up for consideration. DH used the 'What you talking about Willis" line more than me and still really likes the name.

The saying doesn't really bother me - DH bothers me more because he's taken to saying 'Willlly' with a silly mocking tone

Love Will as a shortened version but I don't think I could get over the "What you talkin' about Willis" thing. That was what I thought of the instant I read your post.

What about Willem instead of William? Wilson is cute too, or I know it might sound weird but I actually like Willoughby.
