    Default Advice =)

Just wondering is anyone has a similar issue and wondering what they do to help.
I get super irregular periods, like once one or twice a year if I'm lucky. I have my period at the moment but so far its lasted for 6 weeks. And it is getting so annoying!
I have used primolut-n before to bring on a full period so it finishes quicker but I'm not a massive fan of it.
Just wondering, has anyone else tried anything that has helped them? Either medically or non medically. And preferably not contraceptive pill.

I've used transexamic acid before but that was because the period was excessively heavy. I've never had a period last for 6 weeks. Can completely understand why you'd be frustrated with that. Can you get in to see your GP or someone to see what they suggest?

I'd ask the doctor if AF is lasting that long.

Yep can absolutely see my gp. Planning on doing that in next day or two. Just wanted to know what has worked for others so I can ask my gp about them. She always just suggests primolut-n so I'm hoping some other people hav tried alternative things.
Thanks for your response though. I will look into transexamic acid, though I'm not sure if it will work in this situation.

Hi, I've had the same for years & years. I only ever got 1 or 2 periods a year & when I did it was really heavy & seemed to last forever.

Are you trying for a baby or trying to sort it out?

I found I had gone to GP after GP who didn't really help too much. I ended up getting sick of it & asked to be referred to an OB/GYN (before I was trying for babies). They put me on a pill which helped heaps. I just can't remember the name of it though! From memory it was fairly expensive but worked so much better than any others had so was worth it.

When trying for babies, clomid helped to regulate cycles.

In between all this I ended up having a laparoscopy & it was found I had PCOS & endo. They cleaned a lot out for me & it made such a huge difference, no more super heavy periods that lasted weeks/months! That might be something to have a look into which might help too. Afterwards I wished I had gone to see an OB/GYN much sooner. For some reason I kept putting it off.

    Good luck
