    Default Water bill error!

    My water bill has been a little lower than usual. (For around 3 cycles). I put it down to we ripped out our garden (less watering) and after Xmas we were away for 3 weeks, then we bought a water tank.
    Anyway today I had a good look at the totals (normally I just pay the bill without even looking at each item dollar amount) and realised that they've been charging me for service charges only and $0 for water usage!!
    I want to call, but I'm worried I'll get in trouble for not notifying them sooner and also having to back pay by a certain time.

    have a good look at your bill ...

    have they done a reading? or just estimated 0 usage?

    will you get a massive bill in a few months when they come and read your meter (they dont always actually read your meter. sometimes they just estimate based on previous usage, and then make it up next time they actually read the meter)

    do you get a 'free' allowance? perhaps with reducing watering and having a water tank, you now dont use over the free allowance so there is no usage charge?

    if in doubt call them. You will not get in trouble for not notifiying them that their bill is wrong ... its up to them to get it right, not up to you to notify them
