I was hoping for a nice breakfast out with Dd and Dsd, being able to open some homemade gifts from them, it's always nice with Dsd because she puts in a lot of effort to make something she thinks I would love, it's very sweet.

Reality is that Dsd has actually gone to her mums ( it's not happened in 2 years) and my Dd is only 15 months old and has no idea what's going on , despite me asking FOB to make something from her to me he hasn't so it will be a bit of a non event but that's okay.

I don't really make a big deal of Mothers Day but I do make a big deal of the presents and cards my kids make. I had a great sleep in and DH gave me a coffee in bed while the girls gave me their gifts. We'll be having a family lunch at the in laws and just chill out.

I thought after my first 2 years as a mum being basically unrecognised and all about dh's mother my dh would make more of an effort this year. No go. The only thing i got that i wanted was to not have to see mil. Other than that it's been a standard sunday - washing, cleaning, cooking. I'm not making any effort for fathers day this year. Blah.

Well my first mothers day will now be celebrated next weekend instead, given i spent the entire day on the couch with the flu . I got some lovely gifts & so grateful for dh for looking after ds so i could rest, but it wasnt really what i had in mind.

Next weekend im hoping for breakfast in bed & then a picnic lunch with dh & ds & a visit to my mum.

My mother's day has been both up and down. Dh has gone so far beyond and above. Teens have been moody but since 12 the switched to being loving. The adult one and I are having a ball watching a TV series that she wanted to show.

My mothers day has been great. My mum bought me some presents from my ds. I got cuddles this morning and we are having take our tonight. A thousand times better than it would have been.

Woke up to the kids at 5.30am, made them breakfast, had some cuddles and dropped them off to their dad.

The boyfriend made me a yummy lunch and I had an afternoon nap.

Would've been nice to feel 'cherished' and appreciated, would've been nice for the kids dad to wish me a Happy Mother's Day as our kids don't talk.

I do feel I slog hard to provide and nurture, it truly is a thankless job in my world.
