Default IVF Newbie - Police Check

    Hi Ladies (and men)...

I am an IVF newbie. I had my first appointment with Dr Chris Russell yesterday and will be going through Monash IVF.

I am in the process of filling all of the paperwork and organising counselling etc. and other appointments.

Just in relation to police checks - I noticed that it can take a minimum of 10 working days to have this completed (I am in Victoria). Does anyone know of a way to expedite this? I am trying to get everything done, ready for my next cycle and don't want this to hold everything up but it looks like this might be the case....

    Any help would be appreciated...

I look forward to sharing my journey with you all.

I think the police check came back before the 10 days, but there was another one that took longer.
Have you done your counselling yet?
We needed to do two sessions two weeks apart (using donor sperm, so may be different) and this had to be done after the police stuff came back.

Hi @Jk565 thanks for your reply. We only have to do 1 counselling session (no donor sperm). I am guessing you might need 2 if you are using donor sperm.

I have booked in for counselling next week, they said they can do this before they get the police checks back but I can't meet with the nurse until I have the police check results back.

I am hoping that it's done quicker than usual. I will call at the end of next week to follow up.

I wish I knew someone that worked in that department 😞
