I know but we will only be 2-3 weeks out from the 12 week scan. I just think if I had the scan before I go I would enjoy my holiday better knowing everything is as it should be. It's tough though because if we see nothing the holiday will be ruined.

Amazing. I've booked in with FS. He would rather me come at 6 weeks than at 9. Fingers crossed we see a little heartbeat

We had our scan yesterday (6 weeks and 3 days), saw a beautiful wee heart beat going at 122. Hopefully we get to see again in 2 weeks at our first obgyn appt. Sending lots of baby dust to @rainbowroad and @almai.

So we got "the phonecall" today. Step 1 = choose donor.

Question, for those using clinic recruited donors, how did you make the decision? It's so hard!

We found choosing the donor so exciting we narrowed the list down based on physical characteristics. We wanted dark hair like DP and green/blue eyes like me. We also based our choice on height. I'm a shorty at 162cm so we wanted to balance that out a bit too.

Our final decision though was made by the 'reason' the donor gave to donate. Some just wanted to 'spread their genes' whereas others truly wanted to make a difference so that was the most important part for us. At the end of the day our child may very well end up meeting their donor and I am confident we have chosen a good person.

How exciting @Chekry! We found it quite difficult to chose, we ended up going for someone who had similar physicality to DP and took particular care regarding health problems. We ended up choosing the one who provided the best health history so we were as fully informed as possible ☺️ good luck with your choice!

We're finding it so far exciting and nerve wracking! We're using basically the same idea, health and DW's characteristics although I think health wins out for us over characteristics.
