    Exactly this. Just things you would have to buy for her anyway. A few things you can't take photos of her opening.

    I actually bought my DD a Swarovski crystal blue love heart pendant so it's a bit of a keepsake / sentimental value that when she's older she will be told and remember it was her birthday present for her first birthday.

    I don't buy toys as presents much anymore. I tend to buy nice outfits or special pj's for friends kids.
