Just wanted to share my experience of CFC going above and beyond when my cycle with my chosen donor went completely pear shaped. She was a proven donor......

    • Chosen donor triggered at the wrong time hence during egg retrieval there were no eggs
    • CFC stopped procedure after failed retrieval on one ovary
    • They brought her back that night (and us as DH had to produce another sperm sample) to try and retrieve from the other ovary and got one egg
    • We were called in the next day to choose from 3 back up donors with frozen eggs from previous cycles in the bank
    • We chose one and they thawed out a batch of 17 eggs & 3 fertilized normally
    • On day 3 we had 4 embryos (1 from original donor & 3 from frozen egg donor)
    • We transferred the 2 best ones (which were from the back up donor)
    • We knew that success rates with frozen eggs were not as good but we were still in with a chance
    • To our amazement it worked and at the first ultrasound there were 2 sacs but only one heartbeat
And the rest is history..... Our little boy is perfect.

To those of you taking the leap rest assured you are in good hands. When a cycle doesn't go to plan they step up and do whatever they can to salvage it. It is so worth it.......
