Well my BT is tomorrow now (which is what it should have been as per Dr Le Roux's advice) as I found a pathology that's open on a Saturday - so I'll have my results Monday - still BFN on the FRER though so I'm calling it.

My plans are well and truly in motion for a return trip in Oct - with hubby and baby in tow so at the very least it will be a good family holiday.
my original donor will agree to donate again. I'm hoping I'll hear back soon if she is available. If not I will start from scratch.

    Just wanted to say hi.
Not sure how to set signature ( i find them helpful to understand where people are at!) but I'm 40 my husband 39 we've spent the last few years (like a lot here - I've read a few of the threads!) going through the MC and IVF cycles and have recently decided to go down the DE in SA route, we have been trying to navigate through the maze ( this thread has been helpful so thanks to you all!) and have settled on a donor ( hope she settles on us) and are keen to go ahead in late August!!!! (with CFC). I see there are a few others here similar. Must be busy over there !
not sure of the wisdom of all this, but keen to have a bub with my hub, and with all the IVF shenanigans going nowhere this seems like light at the end of the tunnel option so FC.
    Good luck to you all..
I did see a running 2015 stats page but can't find again any chance someone could tell me how to find ?

Just contacted cfc with my donor choice seems like she is good, but got told there are several other enquiries. Felt a bit pressured to sign up but am not sure, as it all seems so frantic. Not sure I've asked all I should ... Anyone ever felt this ?

Ferngirl, if you find a donor you love and she ticks all the boxes you have, my advice is go for it. A lot of if it depends on the donors schedule so even if someone else loves her she might not be able to donate in their timeframe. My advice is be a bit detached in the donor choosing phase as it doesn't always pan out.

    Ferngirl welcome.

If you like the donor and want to proceed at that time then you'll need to commit. There are laws governing timing of donations in SA (frequency limitations) and whoever commits first then governs that donors availability.

I had to decide quickly due to my timing limitations and I was relieved it was so straightforward and easy. It is nothing like ED in Australia.

Trust the system and go with the flow. If you want to go in August take the plunge. If you want that donor and she is taken by others you may not get to cycle until next year.

First you have to know and believe ED in SA is what you want though.

    What Emski says...

I really didn't labour too long on donor. My first was found to be bipolar and fortunately my other choice was happy to cycle at Christmas with short notice.

I could not have been happier. Remember it's self reported and for me just some health questions were important along wiyh general traits. Epigenetics and environment have so much influence on your child at the end of the day.

Don't over complicate the donor process. I had to choose both egg and sperm and it was all 'gut' feeling but no labouring.
