I'm getting nervous as today is egg pickup day. The last word we had was our donor had 13 good follicles, so I have my fingers crossed.

We are really enjoying Cape Town there is a lot to see and do. As many have mentioned the low cost of eating out here is fabulous! We had a beautiful dinner at a Greek Restaurant last night and only cost about $50 for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine! We also haven't had a bad meal yet, everything has been delicious.

Blinky, you were right about the drive to Inverdoorn, it was beautiful drive with lovely scenery. We also loved seeing the baboons along the road, especially the little babies

For all those who are reading this thread in the future and might be concerned about safety over here, please don't be anxious. I was quite nervous and jumpy at first but have come to realise that it is fine. We have walked around quite a bit in the day time and at night to a local restaurant and have had no issues at all.

I'm looking forward to catching up with Lisa and Emski on the weekend, it should be fun

Enjoy your time there. Cape Town is beautiful but my local friends don't like driving anywhere at night. Common sense for sure.

Enjoy your flights. 51/2 months pregnant is not comfortable for flying.

EmmaJane - Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Inverdoorn! Fx for a good result for you today. EPU day is always a little unnervingly..

Emski - thinking of you as you head out this week ☺️ enjoy the pampering and good food..
Also hope Cape Town bestows you with some more African magic like your gorgeous Edie!

To the other ladies heading there soon - enjoy your time there, it really is a special place!

AFM - had another appointment with the OB last week (and a sneaky little scan😉). Still haven't felt any movements but the scan showed all is going well and our two were definitely putting on an show kick boxing (probably a good thing I can't feel them yet😜).
We click over to 18 weeks on Wednesday, it seems to be flying by..

Default Egg Donation in South Africa #9

It seems like everyone is going or already there ! Good luck everyone. Very exciting emski, Lisaxxx, hopeful and good luck emmajane with epu results. Hi to anyone I've missed. We finished our testing and can send results hopefully on Thursday. Tomorrow CFC will be drafting up our treatment plan but I'm not sure yet when our donor testing is. I'm going to be interested to see what my AMH levels are now. They were about 9 two and a half years ago so probably non existent now.

    Does this settle down?
Ive had a few headaches and was quite queasy today but not sure if that's the Lucrin or progynova? I'm on day 8 today. We fly to Cape Town on Sunday. Ultrasound on the 3rd. Donor agency messaged me to say donor is on all her Meds and doing well. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Good luck with EPU today EmmaJane!
TannyMac it sounds like the good old 'combo' of side effects from both. I'm having my transfer on June 3, we might cross paths!
Glad to hear all looked good at your scan Blinky.

I'm sort of packed now which is better than not packed at all I guess!

Well egg pick up results weren't as good as expected and even Dr LR said he was expecting a couple more, but we ended up with 7, so I guess we shall see how we go. At the end of the day as long as we get 2 for transfer it is all good. However, I would like at least three so we can freeze one for later. Dr LR said that since there is only 7 he will book us in for a day three transfer, but if at least 4 are progressing well on day 3 he will change it to a 5 day, so for now it is just a waiting game.
