    I you haven't used it in the last 6 months get ride of it. If you haven't worn it in the last 12 months (to account for change of season) get rid of it. Then take it all to the charity store, put it on gumtree or have a garage sale.

    You have to be ruthless when culling!

    I always do one room at a time and have 1 room completely packed and cleaned. Then I put all the boxes into that room. Write a list of what is in each box, don't just write "kitchen" write "cups,plates, sandwich press etc" makes finding stuff so much easier.

    Don't feel bad for the many nights you have take away!

    Get a skip! Wish we had done it on our last move. Instead we packed it all, moved it, stored it, then got annoyed with the rubbish and chucked a bunch in the skip.
    My other idea (that I wish we had done) is to have a massive garage sale before you move (all items really cheap, so everything goes- anything left that you don't want can go to charity or in the skip if not good for charity.
