Well, we made it through the night! I actually slept pretty solidly.

Had a look out the window - the pine tree lying over the back verandah has damaged part of one of the supporting beams and has demolished our hills hoist. So that's a worry because it might give way under the weight of the tree sitting on it.

We rent this house. I will be calling the RE as soon as they open (they were shut yesterday because of the disaster) but I don't know if I should be calling the SES? This tree is enormous and it's just resting on the house.

SES would be so back logged, I imagine there's people out there who need more urgent help. Hopefully the RE will know what to do.

I would try and call the SES (primarily because RE aren't open yet) but there is a MASSIVE phone queue and backlog. Once RE are open call them.

    And stay safe.

Stay safe everyone. Is horrible living in fear like that. Hope it passes quickly and you all dont suffer too much damage. Any news on who has lost their lives? So sad

I just moved from glebe rd in Newcastle and we had a massive storm water drain that ran beside our house. Since having max that drain kept me awake at night wondering if we would get washed away. I'm so glad I now live on top of a mountain in Victoria. Seeing pictures from greta and and other hunter towns in haunting. I hope you all have a safe night and prey this thing moves on tomorrow. Sending love and support for those sleeping with one eye open tonight.

How are you this morning @Zombie_eyes ?

Storm seems to be over up here now. So much damage and cleaning up to be done everywhere.

We came out pretty well in my street. We lost power last night at 8pm and thankfully it came back on sometime between 1am and 3.30am. All calm now. This is the view from my front door this morning. Looks pretty good considering the bashing we took.

We had snow and sleet forecast for much of Sydney this morning... Didn't see any though

We've been getting heaps of rain and wind. Has broken our shade cloth out the back but thankfully it has only broken in the middle so it is hanging down over the washing machine and cupboard outside and keeping them dry atm.

I live in Western Sydney but a few years ago we had flooding because of the rain. We redid the waterproofing on our house so I'm hoping it holds up.

Sorry - I did a wash...there was a little sun peeking through until that point.

We have come through better than expected for which we are thankful. Some water in the house and damage to the backyard/equipment/trees but much better than others. Haven't ventured outside too much as yet so will see if there is any more damage through the sheds then. We live in a higher area so no risk of flooding here.
