I'm so grateful to be eligible for benefits when I can't work. This week I can't work because my son has fallen sick and my mother in law who looks after him has fallen sick too. I had to cancel 2 shifts at work (am casual) and my husband is a student. So my next payment will be all from benefits and I won't be able to work next week cause I'll be having surgery. So as long as you qualify for it and are eligibile to receive it why not? You need some kind of wage to get by. I'm sure everyone would love to have a high paying wage to support their family but don't feel bad about having to rely on centrelink payments. It's not that easy to just find a job especially with a young family. So do what you need to do. Go down to Melbourne or wherever and see what happens. Hopefully cold calling might do the trick.

    Good luck with everything.

I just wanted to say good luck Monnie. My husband lost his job recently & is having trouble finding work in his industry here in Brisbane. Im on unpaid leave & will be returning to work soon but we cant live on my part-time wage alone. So i have some idea of how hard that it is, throwing a sick child & your epilepsy into the mix & i only imagine what its like for you.

I really hope it works out for you & that your husband can find work soon! Good luck!

It sounds like you're just trying to do your best for your family.

Moving interstate is hard work but you've obviously thought it through.

Hopefully when you move he'll find work and things will fall into place. Best of luck

I would go somewhere like melton. Cheap, livable and family friendly.

Does your dh need to drive to work or is he able to catch public transportation. This is a huge factor in Melbourne
