Default If cartoons were real life...

Kind of a spin off from the Postman Pat thread. Do you ever put children's tv shows into real life context? I get bored when DS is watching them and often apply reality to them, then find them mildly disturbing/sad.

    For example -

Bananas in Pyjamas: a pair of intellectually slow twins who wear their pyjamas in public and are consistently taken advantage of, and manipulated by, their rat of a neighbour.

Paw Patrol - an apparently orphaned boy who takes in stray dogs and dresses them up as the village people.

    Care to contribute?

Love it! I see the Bananas as a lazy couple and I feel sorry for Rat- he seems to be the only one in Cuddlestown with a job. He's just a small business owner trying to get by!

Haha, I never thought of it that way!

The other one that gets me is Charlie & Lola - what is the deal with their parents?? They're never around and poor Charlie basically raises Lola on his own! I do love it though, is such a cute/sweet show

I love Peppa Pig. But why is the Queen the only human? Surely they could have made her an animal just to fit into context?

In The Little Einsteins- Rocket is a damn rocket. Why does it have to transform into anything else- other than maybe a submarine? "Oh, look! There's a river! Rocket- transform into a boat!" NO! DAMMIT JUST FLY ALONG THE RIVER! Then you won't have issues with waterfalls!

Fireman Sam- that naughty kid Norman should have been referred to a pediatrician years ago for testing.

Thomas the Tank- why do they have drivers? To control them? Then why do the engines just do what they want anyway?! And why don't the drivers stop them?

Don't even get me started on Norman Price!! I often find myself silently cursing "Goddamit, Norman!" at the TV.

Not long ago I had a massive b!tch to DH about Norman! I was already stressed out and then the show started and I ranted on about him for probably 10 minutes before hubbs gave me a hug lol.

That Shezow (sp?) Show on ABC3. DSSs watch it before school and hubs pointed out to after watching on his morning off that he thinks it will be like that horrible rugrats theory thingy because it you look at it from a real life view it is the struggle of a young boy who is imagining saving the world to compensate for him fighting his inner demons about his sexuality/gender confusion.
Sorry if I explained that badly DH explained it to me alot better. I cant watch it properly now as I just want to hug him.

DJ Lance from Yo Gabba Gabba is just on acid. The whole tripped out show is just his drug induced psychosis.

And I'm with the rest of you, Norman Price makes my skin crawl- that VOICE
