    Default ??? Cold sore

I think my 6 month old baby may have a cold sore. I get them, so I'm very familiar with the appearance. It is above her lip. She is pretty miserable. Should I take her to the dr? Is there any treatment for a baby this young? I hope so much that it isn't one, but I'm pretty convinced that it is

Hugs. I have no advice but as i get cold sores too i can imagine how your feeling. They suck

Maybe call the mothersafe hotline and speak to them about it. Hopefully bubba isnt too affected and it goes away quickly for her. Good luck

    Default ??? Cold sore

I had the beginnings of a cold sore whilst pregnant, so couldn't use what I usually use (ie. Zovirax). I used paw paw ointment and it stopped dead in its tracks. May be worth a try?

ETA: But definitely see the Dr as soon as you can. (My suggestion was for an interim measure).

I would call nurse on call. They can be quite serious in babies.

I would call the nurse hotline and make a Drs appointment for tomorrow either way. Like a pp said, cold sores are serious with babies.

Good luck, hopefully she shakes it off quickly
