I worked with high cases of TB in London in a paediatric hospital. The majority of the cases were of African refugees who were not screened and even 2 vietnamese babies of illegal immigrants, all were treated as were family members who were all assessed.

Have no issues with rules coming in and funds being dropped if choose to not vaccinate for reasons other then medical problems. I am grateful that dd's daycare already requires children to be up to date with vaccines for enrolement. I have had severe reactions to some vaccines as an adult but that doesn't mean i won't have all other boosters requires for my health and employment it just means i. won't have those again, same as if dd reacted to 1 vaccine it doesn't mean id stop her having all vaccines would just not give those ones again.

I completely understand severe anxiety, I'm sure many read my post about being scared to get on a plane a few weeks ago. I am completely frightened to form an attachment to my current pregnancy because I'm convinced the baby is already dead or will die and my son still sleeps with a breathing monitor because even at 22 months I'm still petrified of SIDS, or at his age SCDS (I think that's what they call it...) and a monitor is the only way I can try and get some sleep. But in most cases of anxiety, like a fear of spiders, it's not dangerous or effecting anyone else like the choice to anti-vax is. I think that's why people get so up in arms about it, because many of us are scared of the consequences of our children coming in contact with somebody who has made the choice not to vax, so we say what we can to try and get them to rethink their decision or to help somebody who is reading along and on the fence about what choice to make.
Yeah, but I think any attempt at trying to get the pp to understand will be lost in the delivery. I saw part of your thread...from what I saw people generally empathised and tried to give you ideas to make it easier for you. Imagine if the vast majority of posts were you being told you were being ridiculous, selfish, and sounded like a drama queen because people fly all the time without any issues. Do you think that would have helped? No, of course not. From my end it just looked like the pro-vaxxers found an an anti-vaxxer they could unleash their anger on. Maybe that wasn't the intention, but that's how it looked for me, and asthe replies to the op have caused her to leave bh the day she started posting I'm going to guess she was feeling attacked.

Being afraid of flying impacts on the flyer only and possibly her immediate family.

Being afraid of vaccines impacts on the whole community.

    The two just aren't comparable.

I'm sorry the op felt attacked but honestly anyone with children is going to have a pretty emotional response to this topic as it is a very emotive issue. And to be crying about an inability to send a child to Europe for soccer when so many on here can barely provide basics at times is going to be provocative.

I actually thought this was pretty tame.

I think many posts have been just a discussion about anti-vaxxing in general and anything addressed at the pp was mostly towards her attitude towards no longer receiving a government supplement due to a personal choice.

I did find it interesting that in many threads like this if the anti-vaxxer being 'ganged up' on complained about it most would tell them it's the nature of the forum, just because people disagree it doesn't mean they're 'ganging up' etc. But when it's a known hubber there's a different attitude. I get it, we build relationships with people, but it's just interesting to see.

As far as my thread, again, my anxiety was only affecting me. If I hadn't have boarded that flight the only person effected would have been me (and my husband's pocket!).

Anyways, I don't think the discussion about people's thoughts on anti-vax and what should be done by the government to increase vaccination rates should stop, the issue with the pp was the attitude regarding the government supplement and the conversation has moved on.
