@Hootenanny you don't need to justify your financial decisions to anyone :-)
Actually..you don't just "get them" without lodging the form/s for them.
You're absolutely correct..it isn't all about YOU...
As a PP said earlier...the money is a privilege not a right. If people want to receive the money, then they must fulfil the obligations to receive it and if vaccination is one of them, then that's the way it is.
No one is taking anyone's "rights" away. If parents don't want to vaccinate they still can. They just can't expect to then put their hand out for money when they haven't met the terms and conditions for it.
And that's the reality of life. The "majority rules" is part of living in a democracy also. Govt's are entrusted to do what's best for the whole and not just a select few and this is one such case.
What really used to jerk my chain was anti-vaxxers that happily collected the Immunisation Bonus when it existed for not vaxxing lol then would say "oh well I was entitled to it with CO status so I took it". Surely to someone that has an objection to the practice it would be seen as a bit yuck and opportunistic to take money for vaccination?
The one thing i keep hearing on this topic is "forcing parents to go against what is best for their child"
1) science tells us that it isnt best for your child to not be vaccinated(unless due to medical reasons)
2) what about what is best for the poor children and elderly who CANT be vaccinated-thats what this is about, protecting them.
Those ASVNers are totally off their rockers aren't they? The mind boggles!
