Default How many sick days do you get?

I have unlimited sick leave as part of my contract however I am a manager and so taking advantage of that is a non issue. I only take time off if I absolutely need to. My full time staff members however have 10 days as they are on different contracts. It's pro rata for part timers.

I have 8 or 10 a year. They don't roll over and carers leave is included in that. I think we get bereavement leave of a couple days

Under the NES the minimum for a FT employee is 10 days personal / carers leave (so this is for your own sickness and to care for immediate family members when they're sick) per year plus 2 days compassionate leave on each "permissible occasion" (I.e. For an immediate family members death, immediate family member on their death bed).

If you're getting any less than that, your employer is breaking the law.

ETA and personal / carers leave has to roll over - you only forfeit it when you leave.

Bring a SAHM mum means I get none but my Aunt is an office manager and in her contract she is allowed unlimited time off sick of otherwise providing the required work is done. One year she didn't take a single day off and the next she had to take a total of 3 months off through out the year to look after my grand parents. Lucky!!!

I currently have about 2 wks worth of sick leave accrued. Dh has unlimited sick leave and carers leave as he is in the army. Pity he is interstate and of no use when the kids are sick.

10 days of personal leave per year which includes sick and carers.
I've accrued over 1200hours which would be pricey for the org if I ever got sick!

I get 14 sick days a year pro rata but I'm part time so only get 7. I also get 3 facs days every 2 years. We used to get over 20 sick days, but they didn't accumulate. Now they accumulate. I have over 35 sick days accumulated. I also have over 1 month of long service leave available.

My company will pay out sick leave if you have more than 6wks worth accrued once a year.
