Fantastic news @Fudge09 !!!!. I hope your counselling goes well and you guys can move forward and start to enjoy the BFP. Really glad you skipped the baby shower and hope you are feeling ok today with Lewis in your thoughts xx
@Bongley that all sounds really promising, so what happens next? When could it all be under way at the earliest? What made her decide to be a donor, its such a generous thing..
@leyshoja hope the PUPO is puttin' a smile on your dial..hehe. This is it..this is it!!!! c'mon embie!

hi to Skyler, Leisy, Blonde, Maxkat and Winsor and thanks for all the cheering!

IUI went fine, they said to have a go tonight too and DH has a bottle of shiraz he cant wait to open after abstaining for a whole 2 weeks! Men are such big woosses (sp?) honestly, like its been such an ordeal. He wanted to run out of there after giving his sample, and he txt me when he was in the room and said lets go as soon as I come out. Next thing i look up and there he is waiting at the lift! You'd think he'd be over the embarrassment by now. Kind of cute but. All the crap we women have to do with loads of people gawking at your bits, they'd sooner die!

So now we just wait...and yes I totally thought of Bertie and felt like it wasn't a silly suggestion to try. God it would be nice...

So I won't be able to poas as Im on pregnyl, so I will have to wait it out til bloods probably, or AF which will arrive if she's meant to.

If @MGC Bertie has any other tips for me...let me know

@tuxcat lol your DH sounds so funny. Yes, of all the things we have to put up with and various instruments inserted up our hoo has and they fuss about 5 minutes in a private room that no one gives a rats about. I know my partner misses the beer fridge at Genea. Don't get that at the public clinic. (heck, I never got a blumin beer fridge at all)
@BlondeinBrisvegas well, I guess I'll have a chat tomorrow with my partner when he is home and let the PD know that we're up for it if she is. It all sounds like it's good though. I didn't want to ask about specific starting dates until we were sure if it was going ahead but that will be the next question. She said she finishes breastfeeding her youngest in a month so it'll be after that, we can get started on counseling etc in the meantime.

She said that the reason she wanted to donate eggs is because she went through IVF herself and the first round didn't go well until they figured out the issue (male factor). It made her realise how devastated she would feel if they couldn't have kids. So, seeing as she produced lots of good eggs she decided to help us infertiles. They have a donation program at her local clinic but she wanted to know a bit about the recipients so she went through the donation website instead.

Woot Woot @Fudge09 I am sooo happy for you !!!! And of all days to get it confirmed! Little bubba Lewis is sending a sign. I hope you have a lovely night with DH and get all this sh1t sorted. He needs to be there for you. @tuxcat - Yay for the wine and booty call ... I hope the IUI does the job for you. @Bongley - beer fridge - wtf ?!?! Why do the men get it so good ? Jeez.. porn... a happy moment... BEER.... what an effort huh. We get the sharp end of that stick alright. Sounds like you have your girl too !! Good work
BIB, no its not really putting a smile on my dial. It's such old news this rigmorole that I don't really even think about it. I'm actually having a wine right now - that shows how much focus I've put on it. I won't be having much, but bad huh. I look at it like this, until implantation it's like putting a cat on my lap and telling me I can't have an aspro as it's toxic to cats. I see myself typing this poor excuse and want to slap myself...

@leyshoja well, if you're anything like me you'll start to pick up around POAS time and get your hopes up again. I remember after one transfer (number 9 I think it was) they told me I only had a measly cr@ppy looking morula left to transfer on day 5. Went to the pub afterwards and had a gin and tonic. *sigh* Then I snapped out of it and went home. Still got my hopes up for that round.
I find leaning on chocolate is a good substitute and I pretend diet ginger beer is actual beer. Works some of the time.

Fantastic news with your BFP Fudge!!!!!!
OMG what perfect timing getting that positive blood result today, of all days.

Well done on standing firm in regards to the step children. Hoping DH has expressed happiness about the BFP.

I don't blame you for having a wine tonight Leyshoja! In all reality, the embryo has just been popped in there and is not yet connected to your blood supply. I was so hopeless after my last transfer and all my friends were drinking on our Easter trip, that I had 2 sips of wine on transfer night. Only stopped because DH made me!
