How hard is it to jump in the car and come see her ffs why do i have to put in the hard yards for her DD is only 6 months old and im already over it. This is a woman who said DD wouldnt be good enough if she had red hair.

    Carry on haha
MIL isn't in our lives. DS has never met her and never will. The last time DH spoke to her was when I was only just pregnant.

FIL and his wife...no real issues with them. She spoils DS rotten and loves him to bits. She doesn't try interfere with and parenting things.

Hopefully things with your MIL improve.

Is it terrible that one reason is because I want a winter baby again so I can reuse the clothes from baby 1? Haha. Even though I know conceiving could take some time, but we did fall pregnant first time round with this one. Some days I think I'll definitely wait a while longer, and other days I could start trying now. Very mixed emotions even thinking about a second baby, which is bizarre cos I would love 4! Anyways that's my spiel. Looking forward to hearing all your stories. Oh and I used bub hub when TTC baby#1 and I loved it! This place is lovely. And a bit addictive if you find a chatty bunch.
    Welcome

@Chunkydunks I love the name Kynan it's actually on my list of boys names 😀
@hopehodgey welcome to the wait! All 4 of my girls are summer babies, I was lucky I had a whole heap of newborn clothes that fit them all. Not silly waiting for a certain time. I wanted my children born before winter (only because I'm a sook in the cold lol)

I'm much the same about wanting to time the births to be in warmer months. I grew up having outdoor birthday parties and being able to have BBQ's at the beach or by the pool and would love our kids to be able to have the same. Let's face it with 2 mums that love being outside chances are they will also enjoy the outdoors (or they could hate it haha).

@MummaCat I have awful inlaws too. Mine live around the corner with my SIL and her kids. They were away for a month, came back and visited a week after they got home and now haven't seen them since (2weeks) The 5 minute drive must be very difficult, pfft! Nah but honestly they are always busy looking after my SIL kids.
The best bit of advice is don't go out of your way to make the relationship work. If MIL wants to be in your lives then she can make an effort. DH always said don't make a big deal out of it, the girls will decide who they want in their lives and at a young age of 8 DD1 already says she doesn't particularly like in laws as they don't love her as much as the other grandkids instead she's constantly calling my mum and wanting her to visit. Mum lives hours away but they see her more than the in laws. So he was right, they do choose and my DD's don't feel any less loved by not seeing them often .

Yep this is me too. Outdoors and at the beach every chance we can get. Moving to SA was a tough one as qld doesn't really ever have a winter so we enjoyed the beach all year round now I'm still in bed with my heater on lol.

Hubby and I are both winter babies so maybe that's got something to do with it! Love the cooler months, despite always having a cold when I had parties as a kid. When I had DD I spent pretty much her first 3 months snuggled up on the couch together all day, it was awesome.
