Default Will he ever sleep through the night!

My DS is turning 1 on the 5th of April and he still does not sleep through the night. His sleeping patterns change all the time and I have tried so so many different things. He basically goes to sleep at 7 - 7.30pm and on a good night will sleep through till around 4am. I know this is quite a long stretch but now that I have stopped allowing him to have a bottle at 4am he is very very difficult to get back to sleep. I have tried giving him just water and leaving him to it. He will cry and fuss for around 10 - 15 mins then go back to sleep but he wakes again in say 30 mins. This can go on till he is up for the day. If I give him what he wants (a bottle) he will go back to sleep until about 6.30 - 7am. I think he is a bit to old for having a 4am bottle but when I have to be up for work the next day its the only way i can get a decent sleep. On a bad night like last night he wakes up crying about 2 hours after going to bed. Last night it was twice and then again at 4am. It seems like he will never sleep through the night.

He self settles fine when I put him to bed at night and during the day. When he is home with me (he attends daycare 3 days a week) he will be up for the day around 7ish then first nap at around 10 for about 2 hours and then an afternoon nap at around 3ish for 30mins to an hour.

I could count on one hand how many times my DS slept through the night up until he was 3. But I was a single working mum and just did whatever got him back to sleep the fastest (little sippy of milk) rather than 'working on him' to sleep through.

My ds1 wakes every four hours on a good night. I do feed him when he wakes if desired. I figure it won't be forever and my sleep is important to me.

My dd was similar to yours. Quite often would sleep till 4ish then I would struggle to resettle. Constantly go through phases of good sleep and bad sleep but nothing consistent. Would self settle happily for naps and nighttime. It confused and frustrated me a little.
Now at 2 she generally sleeps through and has done for awhile now. Nothing as changed I think she's just ready now.
So no real advice but letting you know things do change and I'm still clueless lol.

Some babies need feeding overnight longer than others. If he happily goes back to sleep for hours after a bottle but is upset and wakes constantly without one, I would say he still needs the bottle. It'll be over before you know it so IMO do whatever gets you the most sleep!

Oh and my daughter didn't sleep through once until 16-17 months. It was still patchy for months after that. Now at 2.5 she sleeps through for 12 hours without a peep every night. They are all different and they will all sleep through at some point! My 9 month old wakes every few hours on a good night. Patience...

This. Some babies sleep and se don't. Some can be trained and some can't. I feed during the night till 4 as it was just quicker to give a bottle and co slept when ever we needed too .
