She asked her midwife who brushed it off saying it's normal for breastfeeding babies to go days between.
She doesn't think she is constipated just sore in the guts
How recently was the aeroplane trip back home? Sometimes, after a flight, babies (and adults for that matter) can get colicky abdominal pain and constipation. This is due to "gas trapping" in the large bowel, caused by changes in the atmospheric pressure associated with take-off/landing. This resolves in a few days.

The midwife is correct though, the bowel habits of breastfed babies can vary enormously. They can poo several times a day, then go for days without doing a poo. It's not really understood why, but it certainly does occur.
If bubs is in pain, with apparently "colicky" pain, then I would give bubs paracetamol. Even good ol' fashioned remedies such as "gripe water" (available at Pharmacies), are worth a go.
In all likelihood, the constipation/colic will resolve itself soon. In the meantime, regular pain relief via paracetamol.

    Lil Smurfy; thanks for asking.
I'm OK...just. Hubby has been away since last Wednesday night, and isn't back until Thursday night. I'm really tired, so my tolerance for infant tantrums is pretty low!
I had a "mini-meltdown" on Sunday night, after the kids were in bed...probably too many glasses of wine, and then I ordered greasy take-away, which ended up making me feel worse!! I think after weeks of "tight control", I needed...well, not sure really.
Next lot of chemotherapy is Thursday of next week.

Oh J, you're so strong! We all have days where our patience wanes without the added physical stress you're under! Big love x
