Default Pee's in Potty and toilet, but won't poo :(

My 2 and half year old, has been peeing on the potty for quiet some time but will never poo on there. She asks for her nappy to be put back on and goes and poo's. She will also pee on the big toilet, is this normal?

Id say its fairly normal... my DD1 did the same thing. Once she did poo on the toilet though there was never an issue again it was just the initial 1st poo

Going through this too but in the very early stages with my 2yr, 7month DS.

Would she sit on the toilet and do a poo with her nappy on...may be a more graduated process?

Seems to be fairly common. Just persevere, it seems to work itself out.

My boy will just sit on the toilet for a few seconds and get off. I wish so much he would just use the toilet.

I feel your pain. DD was late to start TT, she's 3.5 and we've recently got wee sorted (most of the time) so she's in undies during the day. She has done 2 poos in the toilet, one at daycare and one at home. Other than that she always poos in her undies. She tells me straight away but just doesn't seem to want to poo in the toilet! Drives me nuts but I refuse to go back to nappies. I figure she'll eventually decide it's much nicer to use the loo.... Hopefully....

We have been going through the same thing with our DS since the start of the year. He is 2 1/2 and it has been so frustrating! I recall having a similar issue with our 3rd child but not the first 2.
