Default 3 year olds eyes have constant gunk

    Hi,

Jord woke up this morning fine but i noticed a bit of dry sleep near his eyes so i cleaned him up before we headed out for the day. At lunch i noticed that they had more sleep in them (its not weeping as such as it is think gunk). Its like pale yellow in colour and in both eyes in equal amounts.

Twice since then ive cleaned his eyes out again at its only 4 o'clock. This has only happened today and never before so i have no idea what it is.

    Can anyone help with suggestions???

It sounds exactly the same as when my DD suffered from conjunctivitis.

She had it a few times, the first time I took her to the GP who suggested wiping her eyes regularly with a cotton ball dipped in saline solution (you can make it up yourself in a clean container with cool, boiled water and a little salt). This fixed it right up, but she said she could prescribe antibiotic eye drops if it didn't work.

Try the saline. Much easier than eye drops & very effective.

    Possibly.

At least with the saline, it doesn't really matter what's wrong, it definitely won't hurt him!

Definately sounds like conjunctivitis. You can buy Chlorsig drops or ointment from the chemist (the ointment is easier IMO). You don't need a prescription either.

the chemist told me that breast milk is the best thing to use for conjunctivitis. I have used it since and it always works really fast.
