Default Glucose test at 9 weeks??

I am almost 10 weeks pregnant and my dr gave me some blood test forms.. Didn't really give them much thought.. Went to pathology and the person behind the counter told me i have to fast for the glucose test??? Last time i didn't do this until 20 weeks? Does anyone know why so early?
Anyway i am also suffering extreme morning sickness and am on zofran for it.. Not that it works lol.. But there is no way at all i can fast at the moment.. I throw up if i don't eat every few hours. I don't go back to the doctor for a few weeks so any insight would be great

Is it a glucose test like the glucose tolerance test or are they just testing your blood glucose levels? I've had my blood glucose levels tested a few time in routine blood tests and had to fast for them (but not sit around and drink the drink).

My ob wanted me to do the gtt earlier too, the earliest I could manage was at about 15 weeks ( horrible ms too). I also had one later through my pregnancy. For me, I had a higher chance of having GD.
Probably best to give your doc a call to find out.

I had a glucose test in my first rounds of bloods... Had fasted... They were just checking levels. I also had the gtt early due to gd risk factors... So did this between 12 -19 weeks
