    Default Homemade Purée Recipes Please!

DS needs to have puréed food at the moment (almost 8mo) as he's struggling with solids. He's having some tests done etc but that's a whole other thread. BLW is not an option at this stage.

So, he seems to like lots of different flavours so I'm keen to try some nice recipes. His favourite so far has been a purée of roasted capsicum & roasted pumpkin. I just roasted both in the oven and then blitz them together. He loves it! He also liked a beef & veg stew I did in the slow cooker.

I have some eggplant, zucchini and pumpkin to use up, do you think that would be a nice combo? Any other ideas?

The eggplant, zucchini and pumpkin would also be great with a bit of lamb. All cooked together and then pureed. Lamb is also really easy to digest for babies so a good meat in the early days.

My son always likes chicken, green veg (broccoli, beans, zuchini...) and coconut cream. Again just all cooked together and then puree.

    Have fun. X

    Any ideas anyone??

I've got some zucchini, sweet potato and eggplant in the oven roasting, I hope he likes it! I've got some rice left over from dinner so thinking of adding that.

    Default Homemade Purée Recipes Please!

The only puree I've ever cooked was a sweet corn one to go with scallops so I'm no help! But roasted sweet potato and eggplant would be yum together - don't be afraid to add some garlic and herbs for flavour and if you need iron add some black strap molasses

I used to puree leftover dinner! Lol.
    Roast lamb and any veggies.
    Apricot chicken
    Risotto
    Fish with veggies.
    Pretty much anything. Lol
And I'd just whizz it up and freeze in portions.
I would add a bit of cream or stock depending what it was.

The zucchini, sweet potato, and eggplant turned out well! I added some cooked rice to fill it out a bit and make a full meal and make the flavour a little milder. Hopefully DS likes it. I can't wait until he can eat proper food, it will be so much easier.

    Default Homemade Purée Recipes Please!

@Elijahs Mum - what do you recommend for constipation? DS was pooping little dry pellets this morning and crying in pain. It all came out this afternoon (all over DH lol!) but constipation is the last thing we need right now with everything else that's going on with him!!

I give him oats made with water and puréed pear for breakfast, I was hoping the pear would help keep constipation at bay.

I made a chicken purée in the slow cooker last week. My bub loved it.
    Here is the recipe.
    500g chicken thigh- diced
    I small onion finely chopped
    2 carrots roughly chopped
    4 medium potatoes chopped
    Half a sweet potato chopped
    1 litre chicken stock
Extra water to cover meat in slow cooker.

Cook for about 5 hours in the slow cooker or until the chicken starts to break down.
I then just blitzed it with a bamix, and spooned into ice cube trays to freeze

That sounds good - do you use homemade stock to avoid the salt?
