I think that if a kid turns 4 before the 30th of April, they start kindy that year. If they turn 4 on or after the 1st of May, they start kindy the next year. Using that rule, my DD would start kindy in 2019 (even though she would already be nearly 4 years 8 months), because she was born in June.

They start kindy the year prior.

Eg my DD was born on 2 March 2012. So she's currently 3, will start kindy next week and will turn 4 on 2 March.

She will start school (reception) in 2017. She will be 4, but will turn 5 a month later.

What is your eldest's date of birth and I can tell you.
    End of May....thank you

Hi Nafsika, check with the private school you are planning to send your kids. All most all independent schools in Adelaide have 2 intakes and some Catholic schools also have mid year intake (ie. your child is going to start school in the 3rd term of 2017). Also check with the school of your choice as some private school have their own early learning centers.
