I went private at Burnside Hospital with both my births and loved it. I think it's personal preference not necessarily better care one way or another.

Both of mine were public with WCH. I can't fault it. My first was through the midwifery group practice, but I didn't get in the second time around. I absolutely loved that program, especially as it was my first. Brilliant support.

I agree that public/private is more about preference than anything else.

    It's definitely personal preference.

I went to WCH and had an absolutely horrendous experience. One other person I know had an awful experience at WCH but in general I hear good things about it.

Thank you all soooo much for sharing with me. We're meeting with our FS in a few weeks for my first scan and we'll decide before then, hopefully.

Curby, do you mind sharing what the problem was for you at wch?

My personal experience was horrendous in women's section there but I can't rate kids area high enough

They misdiagnosed me with having cancer after I had a molar pregnancy to point I cut all my hair off etc! Then put me in RAH, then said sorry it was a mistake 😳 hate wch. I lied about my address to get Into FMC

I had a great experience at wch with my first two. I was extremely lucky with my son that I had birthed there as I had a big bleed. My third I was in mt barker and it was fabulous!! I wasn't sure if I would like it but had the best experience.

Can I just say parking at WCH is really sucky! I was there today and by 930am both carparks were completely full and every park around was full. I needed to park about 2km away. Great day not to take a pram argh

I'm having my next bub at WCH and they've been wonderful! I'm high risk though so maybe their high risk team is nicer than the regular ones? The car park is nearly always full though, so we park along King William Rd, Pennington Tce, or War Memorial Drive (near Adelaide Oval) and haven't had any problems (yet!!!) it's not that far to walk and I'm in my third tri and have a 3yo
