I can see why people are passionate I am too. But I can also see why for some people Adelaide is boring and that's fine.

I've got to comment though on the shop opening hours thing. My SIL always complained too as she lived in Sydney for ages and thought it was rubbish hours. I disagree as supermarkets are open until 9pm Monday to Friday. Do people really feel lost if they can't but clothes and shoes and furniture and appliances etc (non-essential items) any night of the week?

I do think that 11am is a bit late for Sundays though, but I'm sure we can all survive without all shops being open after 5pm.

Off topic but what does everyone do for work here?

Spent weekend down at Goolwa we are clearing a block to sell. (My parents). So sad to see it go as I grew up there.

Nothing. I haven't worked since my 11 month old daughter was born. Looking for work now though, preferably basic admin., secretarial, data entry, word processing. Not having much luck at the moment.

I am a payroll manager and hate it. However there is a shortage of people with my skills in adelaide so i can negotiate wages and working 0.9fte so that is good. I put my resume out on monday and have had 18 phone calls since wanting me for their rolls.

Heading off to Adelaide Oval soon for Showdown 38. Should be a full on game, as these usually are.

Just heading straight home. Already had a headache when I went to the game, and being in amongst all that noise for that amount of time didn't help. Was a good win in the end, after a slow start.

Trying to decide whether to ask DH for my Mother's Day present next weekend to be for him to watch DD again for a few hours so I can go to the game against West Coast.

Have you thought about temping? I currently work through Locher and they are fantastic! As well as Entree Recruitment. I am doing this until I get a full time job in the Department I like.
