What would a government do if it wanted to hide the reality of men’s violence against women? A government of mainly men, whose self-interest and privilege allowed them to ignore, deny or dismiss the reality of men’s violence against women could not only hide the reality of men’s violence against women, they could create the illusion that they’re dealing with the problem.
