    Default Monash IVF costs

Hello everyone, hubby and I are hoping to proceed with ivf towards the end of this year. I was wondering if anyone would tell me how much they paid at monash or any other clinic in Victoria. We dont hv private health insurance and just wondering whether it is worth getting it and waiting one year. Do you have to pay hospital fees for egg pick up as well as transfer?

    Thanks a lot.

I am with Monash, no insurance. After Medicare it costs us about $5000 per stimulated Ivf+icsi cycle plus hospital, anesthetist and testicular biopsy fees, about another $1-2k depending on whether we make it to the public or private hospital for egg collection. Meds, scans and transfer fees are included. Contact them and they will be more than happy to discuss fees

Hi I'm in Brisbane but would guess it's roughly the same, first round about $10,000 but we got $5,000 back from Medicare. We paid for day surgery ($1600- no rebates) and we Got back about $150 for the sleep drug man. Roughly same costs for 2nd go but we got $6,000 back from Medicare cos we hit the safety net the first time.
I have a friend who went with another clinic and she said hers was cheaper but then they made her pay for drugs and blood tests that I didn't have to pay for (included in my costs) so wasn't really cheaper in the long run.

Ps: we got insurance after the fact so our Dr can deliver our baby - it's still a 12 month wait tho.

We used Monash (in Melbourne) and I recall from the price form it's about the same - around 5k out of pocket. The only difference will be if you have any preliminary procedures at the hospital (for dr and anaesthetist). For example, I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, where the doctor established my tubes were blocked - so we went directly into IVF and skipped IUI.

They should be able to give you the price sheet once you have an appointment.

    Good luck!

Hi there, I had a miscarriage on Saturday 5 days ago at 6 weeks. I have stopped bleeding and just had another blood test to make sure I passed it all etc. it was a natural miscarriage. It was my first try with IVF just wondering how long I would need to wait before doing a FET and how much it would cost? I am with Monash Melbourne.

    Thanks

    Default FET costs

Hey, we did a FET in June. Cost us $3250. And I paid for a drug on the day that cost me about $85. We got back roughly $1600 from Medicare. ( we are in Brisbane)

Do you mean scans while doing an IVF cycle to check follicles etc?
These are all included in monash fees, I never paid additional scan fees

I can't help with the costings as I have private heath - though I don't think makes all that much difference in the end, other than for the hospital fees.

But I will say, while Monash may be a little more expensive than other Melbourne clinics, I would highly recommend you go there anyway.

The little bit extra you pay is worth it for the extra and better facilities, testing etc that you get there.

    Good luck!
