    Default Pregnancy Management Fee (SA)

Hi everyone! We are ttc #1 and was just wondering about the pregnancy management fee for various private obs in SA? Can anyone share their experience?
I have excellent PHI so not worried after I'm admitted to hospital, but I've read that Medicare has changed their rebates for this fee?
    TIA

My management fee in November last year was $2500 and I think I got about $500 back from Medicare. When we called around looking for our obstetrician with #1 most were within a few hundred dollars of $2500. That was after hitting the Medicare safety net also so it helped to get a larger rebate.

Also take in to account extra fees such as a pediatrician for babies care while in hospital (mine was $700 for emergency c-sec with minimal rebate), pathology and if needed anesthetist (I had 3 but luckily only had a bill for $250 as the first two were preferred members of my private health). Also find out what your fee is for each visit - I ended up on twice weekly visits with baby #1 which added up quickly when it's $50 out of pocket per visit.

Good luck with it all I hope that has helped a little xx

Whoops, just realised you're in SA. I'm in VIC so not really relevant I guess

My ob was Mandy Nichols at Ashford and was charged $2k both times, because I did shared care as I lived in a remote location. Her usual fee was $2500.
