    Hi ladies,

Thought I'd join in on this thread as I too am a poor responder to meds. My AMH was tested 3 times in 2011 with an average of 1.0

My first cycle resulting in 0 eggs was a flare cycle. My specialist told me to move straight to egg donor. It was too difficult accepting this having just turned 29 at the time. DH and I decided to try a few times using a 'discounted' clinic on the Sunshine Coast. We tried twice there with no luck. There was very limited tailoring due to keeping costs low.

In 2014 DH and I decided to have a much needed break and to be honest, it was what I needed. I stayed away from researching IVF etc and stayed off forums. Now, my hubby is excited to try again, as am I.

We are at a third clinic as we have moved. We are trying the Estrogen Priming Protocol as suggested by our new specialist. They have booked us in for a July EPU so still some time before it all begins, but when I get all the paper work I'm more than happy to share. From what the nurse said, it is a very busy cycle with loads of injections at specific times. Praying this is the protocol for us. Come on little bubba!!

@Babyplz Oh Luv, you both have had a bad run, I'm sorry to hear that I think it was a bit premature for your previous FS to recommend DE straight off the bat??

Anyhoo, not to worry...am keeping my and sending your way that this protocol will be really effective for you and get you over the line with a BFP!!

Will keep my eye out for you on the thread too. Is WDA your new FS by any chance?? If not, good to see other FS implementing the protocol in other places.

    Hi there babyplz

I was going to say what Blonde has said! That is, it seems very premature of your first FS to suggest DE after one cycle, and are you by any chance now seeing WDA? Great news that you are feeling excited about your next go. Picking yourself up an keeping the PMA (positive mental attitude) is half the battle!

As for me, I'm in the middle of my first flare cycle (5th IVF cycle) and so far I'm having a much better cycle than the last one. I wonder if the cocktail of things I'm taking (DHEA etc) is finally having some effect after about 16 weeks on it. Babyplz, are you taking things to improve egg quality? I assume you are..and that maybe you're waiting until July for that to take effect?

    GE

    Hi again ladies,

I'm not sure who WDA is sorry. Is that someone in Brissy? My new FS is in North Qld. He has done EPP with other patients with a low AMH or poor responders. One thing I don't like is lack of flexibility again though. From what I've read, when doing a EPP, you are suppose to start off a natural cycle with the estrogen. My FS has me going on the pill for a short while to align with their hospital times. My concern is what happens if I need an extra few days of stims... too bad? I'm currently booked in on a Wed and their days are Mon, Wed, Fri each fortnight. So I guess I have 2 days grace.

He didn't suggest any pre-medications. In past cycles I've tried DHEA among other things. I have had to put this cycle back so far due a separate surgery next week... don't want to be on pain medication when starting IVF meds, and also their availability with EPU. Frustrating!!

@Babyplz Sorry, WDA is Warren De Ambrosis and yes, he's a FS in Brisbane. Am glad to see another FS is doing the protocol. I went on the pill too but not to align with clinic times, but to down regulate and quieten the ovaries. It's usually part of the protocol.

I can understand why you're frustrated Luv, I've never understood why some FC's only operate on certain days?? Mine is from Mon-Sat inclusive (fair enough for everyone having Sunday off). I'm pretty sure they can put you in a "holding pattern" so to speak with the meds if you have to wait and extra day or so, but even so, what a pain!! I guess they have to share the hospital's facilities with everyone else??

Anyhoo Luv, wishing you Good Luck!!

@Babyplz I hear you on the set egg retrieval days. My last clinic also did Mon, Wed and Fri and it's part of the reason I changed clinics. That said, plenty of people get pregnant with clinics around the world that have set days.. They must have ways of dealing with it, although I could never quite work out how.

I've just had my day 13 BT and scan. It's my best ever cycle. My oestrogen is 11,000! The highest it's ever been before is 4,500 on day 14 of one cycle. I have 9 mature follicles and about 4 immature ones and I'm triggering tonight. So it's looking good on numbers alone and it's a huge improvement on the dud cycle I've just had. Fingers crossed it translates to some quality eggs!

Yes, there was some concern re OHSS - the nurse said something like "you need to take the trigger tonight before you get overstimulated"..
