    Default single mums?

Hi ladies, so my hubby is leaving me. I'm absolutely shattered... i dont know how im going to do it all on my own. I have a 14yr old boy (from a previous relationship ) and a 3yr old and a 5mth old to my hubby. How do i do it? I am just about to take over my first business... now deal with him leaving as well as be a single mum.... please give me your hints and tips cause I'm seriously stressed out😢.

There's a single parents section on here... might be worth a look!

Go get some legal advice. Check out centrelink and find a counsellor are good places to start; along with going and opening a new bank account in your name only.

    I'm sorry to hear this.

First of all - breathe. You will be ok.

Second - ring centrelink and inform them you will be claiming and separation date. Your claim can take a while to go through but will be backdated from your phone call.

    Third - ring legal aid.

Fourth - if you need, see your GP about a referral for a mental health plan which will allow you to access some bulk billed counselling sessions.

There are lots of single mums on the hub, so please lean on us for support. It's a tough time, we understand :-)

I second everything @harvs has said. You firstly need to look after you. Also I suggest looking into mediation as soon as you are ready as it can take months and it is best to have ground rules for visitation/care. I would call child support when you feel ready too.
We are all here for you if you need to vent, chat or just get it all out.
