thanks katiesmum. without wanting to sound like a complainer, I think my gym needs to invest in new scales. my weight has been up and down, and I am doing the same things. so we have checked out the scales, and depending on where they are placed, the weight can change by as much as three kgs. im not kidding !!. I feel like I am still losing weight, and my bmi is going down. also I have worn size 12 clothes, with room to move, whereas last time I put on size12 it was a struggle to fit. I am feeling good, and I am going to the gym 5 days a week, so I will keep doing what im doing. keep up the good work everyone. marie.

weight isnt always a good measurement. Go off
    - how you feel
    - how well your clothes fit
    - measurements (with a tape measure if you want to go that far)

if you are using weight - buy some bathroom scales and weigh yourself at the same time each day (eg first thing in the morning)

There are a LOT of things that affect your weight. Time of day, whether you have had a bowel movement, whether you have eaten or drank anything, monthly cycle, water retention (eg if its a hot day) .. before or after workout .. all kinds of stuff.

Its truly not surprising that your weight goes up and down like a yoyo if you are measuring just at your gym.

If your clothes are fitting you better, and you feel good - that is a fantastic result.

im so happy, im now weighing 74.3 kg. getting under 75 was my first target. so I have lost 8.2 kg since starting at the gym. I feel so good, five sessions a week certainly makes a difference. and I have bought a yoga kit for home use. so now I can do more at home as well as at the gym. happy me. marie.

    Well done Marie!!!

I'm not loosing weight atm but loosing cm and I'm a lot fitter than when I started. Programs my PT has been giving me wouldn't have been possible even a month ago, so that is progress. I'll keep plodding along and we'll see the kg move down on the scales too.

The number on the scales isnt A real indicator of size; the number on your pants are tho!! You're doing awesome!

Thanks ZE! It is so ingrained that the number on the scale needs to go down it is frustrating when it doesn't.

Yep, its awful! But if the result leads to sabotage; maybe just take a break from weighing? That always helps me!!
