How long did you bleed for?

About 10 days at 6-7 weeks and I also had a few clots.

When did the hemorrhage clear up?

Not sure of the cause but had a couple of spots at 10 weeks then nothing until labour started.

Did you have any other issues as a result?

No issues, ds is completely healthy, i had a spontaneous labour & natural birth at 41+1 weeks. Ds is now 13 months and a big healthy bub.

Bleeding in pregnancy is very common. I later found out my mum experienced it in one of her pregnancy but she never told me!

I had a retro placental hematoma and bled pretty much from 12 weeks to 24 weeks. Numerous hospital trips (including one ambulance ride, after losing 2.5 litres of blood and collapsing). 4 blood transfusions and an iron infusion. Complete bed rest for most of the 2nd trimester. I had a midwife tell me to expect the worst because no baby could survive what was happening.

I hadn't replied earlier because I have been having a battle of wills with a very very determined 19 month old about going to sleep. She was born perfectly healthy at 38 weeks. My placenta however was described as 'the rattiest the Dr had seen in 30 years of practice and was full of 'dead' sections'.

Wow, that's amazing! Hard to believe such a good outcome is possible with that amount of blood! Thank you for sharing
