Default Cancellations of family tax benefit A

    Hoping someone could help.
Just received a letter saying our family assistance (tax benefit A) has been cancelled because they are not satisfied with the estimated income.

I just had a new bubba in December that makes us a family of 5 and our income for the last financial year is no way near the threshold and this years estimated are based on last years and we have also over estimated a little just in case for this year because we don't want to be over paid. Why would they just cancel it completely and not even bother to contact us to obtain more information? And the letter has only one sentence!
Your family assistance has been cancelled. We are not satisfied with your estimated income?!
Really annoyed and I have to wait till Monday to speak to them!

    Anyone else experienced this please?

It's definitely that you've got to be under 100k. Not that that would help you much, right?
I got a letter today saying my rent assistance was cancelled because try didn't receive paperwork (aus post fault- I'd say its lost) but I'm also losing a bit chunk of FTB A as well with no explanation as to why. Not all, but a big part.

In hoping they've had a massive computer error today, but it seems unlikely.

No it's definitely no where near 100k 50k if I am lucky for this year. But you would think they would at least called me or ask for additional info before cancelling it. Doesn't make sense to me.

I am very annoyed. More annoyed at the way they have dealt with the situation. Just a letter with one sentence didn't even bother to make contact or include more detail on the letter or give me a time frame to submit anything if that's what they are after.

Mine has been cut off because the doctors wrote the wrong dates on my sons vaccinations so ****ED OFF!!! 😡😡😡 it's taken so long to get reconnected! As I needed to make a doctors app, (fix it up). Process through Medicare then call Centrelink! :/ then they said they aren't back paying!!

Hubby applied for Centrelink 6 weeks ago no payment. They said it's still processing. Guess they are getting tigher

I printed the letter! Just one sentence! It's going to be a long weekend for me! I just can't figure out what their problem is! Our estimate is based in our last years figures and given that u just had a baby I won't be working, but we have still estimated higher than last year! Seriously no need to cancel should have asked for more information if they are not sure! It's a big chunk of money for us at this point in time. Really not happy!

    Ring and talk to someone.

This week dd got a $700 debt out of the blue. I went in and rang nobody could explain it too me. In the end I asked for it to be reviewed. The had entered the wrong code by accident and they actually owed her $1100.

I wonder if it's different with business. I know my estimate is wrong cause one year business was bad but it's picked up, so I'm sure after tax I'll get the beautiful letter to pay it all back. But it's theirs so I don't mind.

Dealing with them is a real hassle and it really matters who you deal with, I had to go 3 times because it had not registered my married name.

In the end I told them to get someone who knows how to work the system and I wasn't leaving until it was done. You just need to be firm and straight out.

D you ladies have to keep changing the estimates or after tax it balances out?

I was just thinking too. Because both DH and I are business owners therefore the estimate differs each year. But I estimated higher this year comparing to last even though I will be on leave for half of the year. I was hoping to make more money this year lol but so far it's looking pretty much the same. Still annoyed ;( I am going to call them on Monday hopefully someone useful and knows what they are doing will answer my call!
