    Default Maths question

My DS1 gave me this maths question he did at school a few days ago. He found it quite funny as I tried to figure it out. But alas, I can't do it. So I need help...

Alice says to Bill, "if you give me 1/2 of your money I'll have $100".

Bill says to Claire, "if you give me 1/3 of your money I'll have $100".

Claire says to Alice, "if you give me 1/4 of your money I'll have $100".

How much money does each person have?

    Do they all have $100?
Do you know the answer? Don't leave us hanging!

No it's not $100, because they're not actually giving each other their money, they're just saying hypothetically.

And no, I don't know the answer. DS does, he figured it out and got it right. I haven't given him the satisfaction yet of having to give up and ask him!

I've also asked DS if it's some kind of trick question and he insists it's not...

And if it does turn out to be a trick question, I think I'll throttle him lol

Bill has $200, Claire has $300 and Alice has $400? Or am I looking at it far too simply?

No, that was my first guess. But they all have to end up having $100 only, so they'd end up with too much.
