    Default Worst Mother Award!

So frustrated and annoyed at myself just need to vent!!! DD hopes in the car when I pick her up yesterday and starts sobbing her heart out! It appears I forgot to hand in her forms for interschool sport, I had handed in all other forms and even paid for all the other activities for school for the year but some how missed that one. I rang the office yesterday only to be told nothing can be done as its a week past the cut off and the teams were already chosen, she will now miss out for the whole year. So this morning I went to see the sports teacher who was lovely and said she was fine with adding her to a team but I had to get the office to agree to take a late submit and payment. The office ladies were rather rude and acted as though I hadn't even spoken to the teacher and said that the sports teacher should have just said NO! I understand they have cut of dates for a reason but this isn't a one off thing its a whole entire year of sport, I even offered to drive her every week if there was no room on the bus and asked if she could start next term instead when they rotate to the next sport. The lady in the office is going to ring me back today after she has spoken to the sport teacher more like gives her an earful for having not said no, I already know what the answer will be NO! I fell terrible as her whole entire class is doing it weekly arghhh.....

I really hope they can find room for her. They sound like they are just being mean.

that sounds really harsh. like it is some sort of military academy. my gosh, im sure they have many people who miss this sort of thing, maybe that is why they are so strict.?? good luck, it will be a shame for your little one to miss out for the whole year!! marie.

Aw that's pretty mean of the office ladies. Some people just take their "power" too seriously.
A quick chat to the principal should get you what you want if there's no love from the nazis in the office.

That is horrible! She shouldn't be missing out on sport for the whole year because you were a little late!
I understand it makes their job harder but if the sport teacher is fine with it then they should be able to make it work.

Sounds to me like the office ladies have their knickers in a knot because the sports teacher has undermined them and you went and asked the teacher after you were already told "no". Sounds very petty on their behalf, like a pp said if the sports teacher doesn't have a problem with adding your DD to a team, what's the issue? I'd be really peeved if she comes back with a "no" now; you've been told there's space for her and you've even gone above and beyond with offering to drive her/wait for next term.
I hope the stick in the mud woman in the office bends a little for your daughter.

Thanks for the reply's ladies, I haven't heard anything as yet and will go back to the office this arvo to follow it up. Crossing fingers at the moment, my only other option is the deputy principle (principle is away) Im really not one for making a fuss but I think a whole year of missing out is ridiculous and I really find it hard to believe that nothing can be done or sorted by next term! I think they possibly do have their knickers in a twist because I spoke to the sports teacher, if that's the case perhaps they should be honest in their reasoning instead of implying it, will cause issues with the sport teacher which is the reason I went to talk to her in the first place.

Omg.. what a run around for you & your poor DD! How old is she? This all seems incredibly unfair even if you were a whole term late! Who cares?! The whole point of school sport is to get the kids active & enjoying outdoor activities, or have i missed something? One extra child in a team will not do anyone any harm of interfere with any sport (hugely) cant believe they are acting this way. How Rediculos. Hope you hear back soon & your dd gers to participate.

Just a quick update the are going to let her participate, both her teacher and sports teacher went to talk with them and they agreed yesterday afternoon. Im very thankful for their help as I don't think I wouldn't had have any luck without their support and understanding.
