Can you fill it with crayon ? being wax, hopefully it won't wear off so quick ? just dirty it a bit, so that it looks like it has been there forever. Can you blame FIL ? LOL

Don't say you did it. Ever. Don't tell your dh. Don't ever own up to it. Delete those photos off your phone. Want me to delete this thread? I'll totally do it.

*looks menacingly at all previous posters* we're all in this together. We all deny together. Don't get weak. Don't start crying under interrogation. We all know nothing, got it?!?

I wouldn't fess up to this one. No good could come of it. Or else I'd blame DH (with his permission of course). In my experience MILs are much more understanding of incidents if its their child at fault.

And it must be a tiny chip because I absolutely can't see it in the photos.

Its a horrible feeling when you have an accident and dread the repercussions.

Eta: There is one situation where I would confess - if she was blaming someone else who was totally innocent, such as your child or her DH then I'd fess up rather than let them get the blame knowing full well they were innocent. (I'd still check with DH if he thinks the safest option is for him to take the blame though).

honestly, I'd tell her to get the stick out of her backside. it's not even a nice looking tile. it's ONLY a tile. she must have really big first world problems.

    I HAVE AN IDEA!

    1. Give her something to lend- tell her it's super precious and cannot be broken.

    2. Later- sneak into her house and damage it (only the tiniest bit) so that she thinks she did it.

    3. Let this stew on her mind for a while before asking for it back..

    4. When she gives it back- notice the damage IMMEDIATLY.

    5. Get visibly upset in front of her-

    6. Shortly after step 5, Take a deep breath and be the bigger person- forgiving her for damaging your precious item.

    7. Follow up by mentioning the tile. When she starts to freak out- remind her of your gracious forgiveness for breaking your precious item. She now can no longer get mad at you without being mad at herself- something I can't imagine a woman of her "ranking" would be willing to sacrifice.

    8. Celebrate alpha-woman victory.

    Disclaimer: This is a joke.
