Congrats @akakura! Big little lady...well done!
@nicasta - My DS1 was a bit like your DS which is why I sleep trained him early. I was losing my mind! I was a much happier mummy after I trained him. DS2 is much more relaxed hence maybe why I more relaxed...that or I know what I am doing this time! Hang in there.

What age did you sleep train @canuck28? My little one only sleeps on me during the day, can't put him down or he wakes. Just not sure if I should just roll with it or if I should address it sooner than later? I'm getting almost no housework done when hubby is at work because the spare moments I have I eat, wash & make bottles, do washing & shower... I feel like a bad housewife! Lol

Sleep training is a touchy subject @BabyOB. Some mothers swear by it and others would never do it until babies are older. I think there is no perfect age...only you as the mum knows what is best for your baby

I sleep trained DS1 at 4 months. It was very difficult...it took almost a whole month and we had to stay home a lot so our movements were restricted. But it worked wonders for him and he became a fantastic sleeper and I was free during his naps. I also became happier.

I did not know how to do it on my own, however, so I went to a sleep school for one day and they showed me what techniques to use.

Now with DS2 I'm going to wait until he is 6 mos because we are about to travel for the next month in Canada. The key to sleep training is routine. I'll also see if I can gently get him sleeping on his own first...you don't know unless you try. Currently I hold him all day for naps too!

But do not feel like a bad housewife, you are giving your baby what he needs...you! He comes first, cleaning and cooking come second.

Yeah I agree. He wants & needs me so that's what I'm thinking but so many people in your ear about what babies should or shouldn't be doing is getting to me & somedays I feel down & like I'm doing the wrong thing I'm thinking of going to learn self soothing but don't want to do any sleep training til later. Hubby is only away for 7 days at a time so it's not a long time between housework. Just curious as to what a usual day for other's is like

    Hello Ladies!

It's been a while, my apologies.

BIG Congratulations to @Nicsta83 and @akakura!

Our little Tomas (now 8 weeks and 4.5kg) loves to nap on me in the day and will nap in his bassinet for 45 mins 1-2 times a day (and easily falls asleep if we take him for a walk).

We are sooo lucky that he sleeps 5-7 hrs at night (7pm-1am).

He sometimes has some colic in the afternoon and I use the Harvey Karp method of the 5 S's to help him calm and sleep - it works for me! If he's really suffering jiggling him in the sling helps. Mostly we just have to make sure we burp him well. We are Bfing + top-ups with S26 Gold.

We've been very busy packing to move internationally back to UK and will be visiting Brisbane in July-August.

I'd love to catch up with any ladies in Brisbane. Please PM me.

As I'm a newborn and baby photographer I'm keen to offer my services with a special package for ladies here and those they refer. My website hasn't been updated for a while (international move and maternity leave!) but do have a look: http://ellebright.queensberryworkspace.com
and you can see my facebook on Elle Bright Photographer
and also an example of a mobile app: http://moblalbum.com/7qgf7h31nl9q

    Hope this is OK @KitiK

Hi @ SarahF we are in leap 4 as well. Isla was really easy to settle we just put her in her cot gave her a dummy and she would put her head to the side, shut her eyes and drift off to sleep. Then wham leap 4 happened on the exact day WW said it would. Now she's really hard to settle and sometimes the only way we can get her to sleep is on the boob. Feel a bit like we are going backwards with sleep but just have to keep reminding myself this too shall pass and she just needs a little extra help while learning new things.
