Tomas Benjamin arrived on 21 April (note that we're GMT-5 so that's 22nd in Australia) via c-section. He's 2.92kg (6 pound 7 ounces), 49cm long and very handsome!

Everyone is healthy and doing well. Breastfeeding abilities for the both of us have improved significantly in the now 24 hrs since birth.

There have been internet issues at the hospital so no facebook and we can't upload photos. Strangely enough video skype worked so we have showed him off to family in UK and BrisVegas.

Hey @Soques apparently that's quite common esp if Bubby got tired from birth. Our bub was like that for the first 4 weeks and then suddenly just like woke up and was able to drink properly for ages. Unfortunately for us I got nipple thrush after his second ever proper feed so we have been delayed again while its treated and pain goes away. Hopefully we'll be back trying again by next week.

Defo chat to the nurse though? But I wouldn't be too worried...he might just need a bit of time.

ps I was super worried about giving bub bottle thinking that he wouldn't want boob after but he has gone fine so far!

@ScubaGal, It may not be, but I had the same thing after dd1 - apparently it was carpal tunnel in my shoulders making my hands tingle/go numb. It is also apparently worse after pregnancy. Not sure though, mine just seemed to go away on its own. I put it down to different posture - after sitting at a desk every day for years, then all of a sudden doing different activities that strain other muscles (like breast feeding). I also found after laying down or staying in one position for a while would bring it on....

Hey @ScubaGal, I had terrible carpal tunnel for 12wks. 2wks in after having bub & it's going away. It's fluid on the nerves. Terrible! Get to a hand doctor who will make up splints for you to wear & can give you c compression gloves
