@Soques huge congratulations! Reading your updates on Wyatt got me really excited. Everyone has told me the hormonal cry on day 3 or 4 is to be expected too.

I'll have to go back and read up on how everyone is going! I've just finished work and am due on 20 April so I've gots a bit more time to participate now. Bubs is sitting very low and in good position so he/she is locked and loaded. We still don't know the sex but I am leaning towards a girl - only because it is small 5-10th percentile.

@KitiK we just bought the fisher price rainforest sounds swing. No baby to test it yet but we are very happy with the size and quality so far. It was about $120 from target.

Well Wyatt DH and I made the local channel 7 evening news for an Easter baby... So if your in the townsville region you might see us all on the news. Our photo has been put up on the local Facebook page.

Update... Wyatt not sucking properly and so will have to stay in hospital probably for another night as he is a bit jaundice. Lactation specialist came around this morning and helped me out... Needed to get a nipple shield as Wyatt wasn't sucking as he couldn't feel nipple in his mouth. They gave him some back up formula through a small drip tube that had the end cut off and fed slowly into the nipple shield so he is still sucking from breast but getting some extra food. He took an extra 4mm at noon. So will try here again in a few mins with just shield and see if my boobs have produced anything yet...

Didn't realise due to my loosing to much blood at labor (about a litre) that it's put me behind in my milk production so hence why I haven't had much to even hand express which in was also doing wrong.

Thats great that you have made the news! Exciting! Everyone loves a new baby - especially on special days. You are lucky that you have access to a switched on lac consultant too, that will know the best way to nourish baby without compromising bf (if thats what you want to do/physically can) Hope your body recovers quickly from your blood loss and you are able to comfortably feed bub soon

@Soques, sounds like a pretty good experience. So glad you got to use your hypnobirthing skills. Your little guy is gorgeous. Hope the aches and pains heal up soon. Enjoy the snuggles!

Has anyone else read/used Juju Sundin's birth skills book? A few people have recommended it-esp for the pushing technique. I'm working my way through it now.

Yep I've read it, I thought it was pretty good although it has a polar opposite take on pain vs "surges" in hypnobirthing

@ladybug14 I read about half of it (didn't get to the pushing part). I found some of it quite useful in early labour. In particular the vocalisation which I didn't expect to use but found very helpful. I didn't use it the whole way through as after three sleepless nights with spirious labour I was simply too exhausted and opted for the epidural so I didn't really need her techniques after that but pre epi they were great and for a shorter labour I think I would have used it right through.
