thanks @MaxKat, all. i'm feeling almost human now. still in hospital though may get discharged today or tomorrow, just waiting on more test results. on top of everything, af started earlier this week (apr 1st i think it was)- i thought it was due next week so that cycle was really strange. i was meant to call clinic to reset clock for day1 fet but just didn't feel like it and with all the meds i'm on i think it migt interfere. plus now i've had a break from my vitamins too. so i need to work out a new plan. we were having an appointment at rpah for may15, not sure if i'd even make that cycle. am guessing they'd want to test etc first anyway so it might be just an initial chat/consultation. may have to keep frostie for later. will talk to fs next week once home and head is clearer

good luck to all here. i'll catch up over next few days. it looks like so much has happened

yes, since sunday. op was late sun night. the pain had started on sat. appendix didn't burst but they said there was some really nasty fluid surrounding it and it had to be flushed out for ages. then i felt ok straight aftr, was prob still under anaesthetic. the next few days went downhill will side effects of op and antibiotics. getting there now though. can even hobble around a bit. it's making me wonder if i'm up to having a bub though, maybe my body is too old. will see how things look when head clears more

Oh no, an op like that would flatten anyone! I've had a GA knock me on my @rse with a far less invasive op and I managed to pop out a sprog ok.

@winsor I agree with @Bongley Luv, you're not too old at all!! Am sorry to hear you had further complications from the op I hope you're now on the way to making a swift recovery

Although the appendix didn't burst, it sounds like it was necrotic and possibly leaked when they removed it?? I had the same thing happen to my gall bladder back in 2011 just before DP began our TTC journey (before we knew anything was wrong).

Anyhoo, As a result of having to wait 3 days for the surgery (due to emergencies etc...public hospital) my gallbladder turned necrotic and when the surgeon removed it, it burst and fluid leaked into my abdomen so I had to stay in having intravenous antibiotics etc as when things like that happen it's possible to develop a life threatening complication which is why they load you up with the big gun antibiotics which are usually administered through an IV.

My point is that I'm not surprised you've been knocked sideways Luv, I know I was when it happened to me. I was sick and sore for days. My GP said to wait 6 wks before TTC. She's not a FS, but it could be within the timeframe your FS will give you plus it's prob a good idea to give your body a chance to recuperate etc. The way you're feeling now has nothing to do with being too old and everything to do with unexpected complications of what is usually a routine operation.

    Get well soon Luv!!
