Mixed emotions for me. Scan today didn't go as hoped. There was a gestational sac, but still no sign of baby 😥
Haven't talked to my FS yet, but the lady who did the ultrasound said it measured about a week smaller than I am, and that maybe it was still too early. There was no sign of bleeding or miscarriage, but I'm worried it may be a blighted ovum. She said my FS would probably order some blood test to see where my HCG is. Of course I've been googling madly and found all sorts of information to give me some hope. Like small-for-date gestational sac sizes found in 36% of ivf pregnancies before 8 weeks. But really I'm preparing for the worst. DH is away, which has been really hard. But my darling daughter & i are going away tomorrow to stay in Brisbane for the night & see Foo Fighters. Hoping it will take my mind off things.

@Petal 40 Oh no Luv My first thought was blighted ovum too, but from what I've seen/heard/observed the HCG usually rises super slow and yours has been ok hasn't it and rising within the normal timeframes?? I'm it was a late implanter for you Luv and that your BT will shed some light. I'm guessing your FS will prob order another scan in a week's time to see what's up?? Bloody Limbo Land!! Enjoy the Foo Fighters with your daughter..am envious..I love them!! I, too, hope it'll provide a very welcome distraction for you even if just for a little while. Be looking out for your updates.

HCG has been fine, guess I just have to wait & see. Hopefully FS will order BTs to check again so we can see what's happening there. Such a blow after being on such a high after continuous BFNs. Some New Shanghai dumplings & some Dave Ghrol will certainly help me feel a little better tomorrow.

Petal I'm so sorry your scan did not go perfectly. Enjoy your concert. Hoping you get to the bottom of what's going on soon. Geez can anyone on this thread catch a break?

MissDa I know what you mean about some friends with little kids. I have exactly the same conversations with one of my friends who has had 2 ivf babies in the time I've been trying

So sorry to hear that @Petal40 - now there is more excruciating waiting for you My thoughts will be with you for some better news... @MissDa, I hear you. I feel like a bitter hag at work lately. I have someone here at work whose wife got pregnant after a couple of the low-cost ivf cycles and I'm realllly struggling to be happy for them.
This is the same guy who said 'oh great, now I've got THAT to worry about on top of everything else' when I told him I was going to force my embie to miscarry naturally last December. Everyone already knows she's UTD apparently because she was showing from the day after the BFP. Pffft. As if. Somebody at work said the other week they couldn't believe she would risk flying overseas after all the money they've spent on IVF. 'ALL THE MONEY' ?!?! I've now forked out $80,000, $35,000 out of pocket and they are up to about $2500 out of pocket so far. I couldn't help but scoff at the 'all the money' comment and came across as 'very unsympathetic' to this guy who said it. I can understand why he thought that. Pardon me for being bitter. I'm blaming the progesterone, but jeez I'm in a filthy mood today. Especially about that.

So sorry @Petal40 I hope the little bugger is just a bit late. How stressful for you.
@leyshoja yeah, its pretty hard not to get bitter about things. I got a text about 30mins ago from a friend who has given birth to her second child and my eyes all welled up.......... and not from being happy for them (although I am of course) Some people just have NO IDEA how lucky they are. I wonder if IVF ladies treasure their kids even more. I know I look at my son and I marvel that he is even here most days. I guess with it looking like I probably won't be able to have another that he seems even more miraculous to me.

AFM I start sniffing tomorrow. As per my resolution to put IVF into the background I have been house hunting and its taking my mind off IVF matters. I think if we do move house (and away from RPAH) in the next 6 months that will put the final nail in the coffin of our IVF 'journey'. Unless I can convince my partner to do DE *sigh*

    Anyway, good luck everyone!

@leyshoja Yep, sounds like another case of N.F.I ......NO F*>KING IDEA!!! So many twits out there who don't even have the faintest!!!!

Had to LOL at the "all the $ they've spent" comment....What?? all of maybe $5000 O.O.P if they're lucky?? We've spent close to $25K O.O.P for all our Cycles everything included (supplements, HGH, etc) due to the no PHI thing and even that's just a drop in the ocean (or IVF Moneypit morelike!!) compared to yourself and some of the other Ladies. Like I said Luv, N.F.I.!!

You won't give a flying you-know-what when this emby you're having transferred on Thurs sticks!! I'm sending positive vibes your oven and your embie's way...
