I'd also take out the ambiguity around your decision by removing the lines:

"I was originally going to request to grow the embryos to 5 days then only transfer 1 if there was a really good quality one, otherwise 2 if they appeared to be a poorer quality, but..

and just say after detailed and careful consideration I want to transfer two etc etc.

They don't need your decision making process, it's stronger without.

(Sorry for the thread hijack but I used to be in charge of correspondence at a big department so it's kind of my jam).

Good luck, can't wait to hear that you're double PUPO.

Thanks @ScubaGal, those are good points. The bit where I say 'i'm not blaming the donor' is because I feel like it will come across that we are SO ungrateful and blaming the quality of her eggs. I'm not sure how to get around that, or do I just forget it and let them think whatever they want. You're right, they don't need my thought process in detail so I will definitely remove the bit about our original plan.

Yeah I figured that's what you might mean but I think it doesn't need to be articulated. If you're worried you could phrase it in the positive "I'm very appreciative of the donor and want to maximise the chance of a live birth".

Hi @MGC Bertie - I'm back and it's great news. I'd like to cheer on anyone else out there who might be in the same boat as myself. I've been on this IVF rollercoaster for over a year now. (Seems longer...) I'm 43. Low responder. Every cycle has been a new protocol for me to find one that works. So after starting on max drugs and slowly reducing my meds to let my eggs do their own thing gently - we have 2 embryos. One 3day snuggling inside as of today and another growing to a 5day freeze.
I wasn't even going to cycle again with my own eggs, due to being worn out emotionally & physically. Donor eggs seemed the way forward. But our FS said he wanted to give this a go - and voila!!
    There's hope ladies xx

yeah for PGD I understand they need to be day5 also. & yes, at genea, my day3 was only when there's 1 (I've only ever had 1-2 so low numbers). day5 is preferred though
