@Bongley thanks for those suggestions, the frozen dinner thing is a great idea. I know a big part of it all is organisation, if i can get my **** into gear of an evening then it will be relatively easy to follow.
I know RPA are good its just the one size fits all approach that annoys me.
@Chiefsgirl thats interesting about the mthfr, I know of the Dr you are talking about from another TTC forum, he seems very well known. I will check out that book too. Someone on the other forum recommended a Dr from IVFA. She is based in the CBD and specialises in repeat IVF failure so Im contemplating her. You're right, I don't have time to play the numbers game, and with my tubes being blocked it seems that IVF is the only way its gonna happen. Why the hell does this all have to be so hard?!

loving the advice and suggestions..thanks everyone
I'm a huge eater and one thing I have found in the past that works is to have a glass of metamucil before your meal. It takes up so much stomach room when it starts to set that you just don't want to eat as much. Plus its really good for your cholesterol supposedly.

@leyshoja we should get some results on the same day, I'm doing a BT on Friday to see if I'm pregnant or not.

Ladies, I take my hat off to you. I don't know how you do this IVF thing. I've done one assisted ovulation cycle and I'm pretty much done. I don't think I can keep going, it is like a form of torture.

For this cycle I did absolutely everything I was told to do. Supps were prednisone, melatonin, DHEA, thyroid hormone, then days 2-6 letrozole, days 6-14 FSH injections, from day 7 Clexane injections, then two days of injections to stop ovulation, then pregnyl injection to initiate ovulation and then three more of those over a week, also anti-inflammatories, baby aspirin, progesterone, a nitric oxide patch and another tablet that's similar - and then of course all my folate, zinc, b vitamins, fish oil, enzymes, etc etc.

And I have to say it has been absolute hell. The headaches with the patches are excruciating. I haven't slept the whole month because I wake up in agony. I got told by Wazza to take a mersyndol for the pain, but that wears off by 2am and I don't want to take another one as it leaves me hungover and drowsy. My belly is black and blue and there's no room left to inject, I look six months pregnant because I am so bloated and swollen, I've gained weight and look horrid, and I am irritable, snappy and teary. I had to spend the weekend in bed because I was so nauseous, crampy, dizzy, headachy and could barely stand up.

Far out guys, you are better women than me, I don't know if I can put myself through this month of hell again - and I haven't even done a proper IVF round yet :-(

So as soon as I find out on Friday that I'm not pregnant (I'm not really holding out any hope) I can stop everything (except the predisone that I wean off) and I am going to be so relieved that that's over.

I'm going to have at least a month off all that stuff, and then decide whether I go a round of IVF or not - I don't think I can hack it to be honest. I just wanted to die on the weekend - if someone had of said, here drink this and just pass away, I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

Just one question, with all that stuff, if I was to do an IVF round, is it much different? Or is it just that I'd not to the letrozole and use a higher dose of FSH and then do the EPU? Other than that it's pretty much the same isn't it? Anyway, thanks for listening to my vent. I have so much admiration for anyone who does this month after month, I really don't know how you do it. xxxxx

Oh sweetie, the first time is always the worst! The key to the headaches is to drink lots and lots of water. It really does help.

I've never done letrozole, anti-inflammatories, nitric patch or baby aspirin in my cycles, but others might have. I'm pretty sure anti-inflammatories are a no-no in ivf. I've always been told not to take anything other than paracetamol or panadeine.

It does get you down but I swear you actually become blasé about it after a while! I'm doing 6 injections a day for the next cycle which lasted 16 days last time and I'm like ok, no problem!

The moods and tears are all normal side effects. I truly hope you don't need it and your bt shows a bfp xxx

@Leisylou I think wazza is known for throwing everything *and* the kitchen sink at a cycle. I think that's why many ladies swear by him! Other cycles can be much more minimal. It really depends on the clinic and doctor. I am on a low dose of fsh and it doesn't mess with me too much. You could try a more minimal approach if your current protocol doesn't suit you.

@Leisylou Yes Luv, if you do a full IVF Cycle with Wazza it will be exactly the same in terms of the supplements/drugs. Not sure if he would still have you on the Letrazole (I think that's used to help improve the stimulation of developing follicle/s. Similar to Clomid) but he'd prob increase the FSH (how much were you taking this Cycle??) to try to get your ovaries to produce more follicles and yes, you'd go to EPU when he felt your follicles were ready to be raided then ET.

As to the patches, they gave me really bad headaches for a few days as my body adjusted to the side effect. In saying that, you don't have to keep taking them if they really knock you around ok?? I know of at least one of Wazza's ladies stopping them due to excruciating headaches she was experiencing that didn't go away. The purpose of them in simple terms is to promote more blood flow around the body which should translate to your uterus too, but I don't think dropping the patches would compromise anything due to the other one hundred supplements and injections he's got you on!!

Speaking of, with the clexane Luv, are u using your Emla cream and icing the area you're going to inject for around 5 mins beforehand?? If not, try that or else try applying an icepack afterwards for 5 mins to help with the sting/bruising. I found it helped me immensely to do that. I remember how much they bloody hurt and sting and bruise As to the Myrsyndol, if he says it's ok to use then it is. He wouldn't prescribe you anything he felt was going to jepordise your Cycle/pregnancy etc. Yes, some clinics are strict with the "no NSAID" policy, but I trust him. He's had well over 30 yrs experience, I think he knows what's what

His protocols are tough going Luv because he does throw absolutely everything at you to give you, your eggs, your DH sperm (when you do a full IVF Cycle because he'll be on supplements to maximise them as well), your embryo's and your oven the best possible chance their is. My only advice is this...If you do get a BFN (and I'm that you don't) I would still continue to take all the supplements on his list that he's had you taking prior to ovulation...the DHEA, Melatonin, Berocca, fish oil, CoQ10, baby asprin...you get the idea..that list while you have a break and decide your next course of action.

Firstly, those supplements will be the most effective if you can take them for at least 3 months in total before you Cycle. Don't get me wrong, they'll still help even if you've taken them for less time than that, but 3 months plus is optimal if possible to help with egg quality and possibly numbers (but mainly quality). It can only help you even if you don't decide to do a full round of IVF and just keep trying naturally. Be good to start your DH on the one's Wazza likes the boys to take (if he isn't already) to help stack the decks in your favour as much as possible no matter which way you go. Just my opinion and it's what I did between Cycle 4/5. And I also dropped my FSH on Cycle 5 at my own suggestion from 450IU to 300IU as I felt it more effective for me to be on lower doses. He was fine with it after I discussed it with him. My point being that he's open to suggestions and adjusting things and will incorporate them if he thinks it's a good idea. "I'll tell you if I think it's a bad idea" I remember him saying to me when I was discussing lowering my dose and a few other things

Anyhoo Luv, I'm hoping this is just all conjecture at the moment and that Fri brings you a BFP!! Am keeping everything and sending loads of your way. Anything can happen Luv most especially when you thing you're right out of the game in my experience!!

You guys are so awesome, thank you so much for your kind words and feedback, it is such a supportive environment here.

@BlondeinBrisvegas thank you for all your encouragement and insights, you are an amazing woman! Yep, doing the ice and the Emla and the FSH was 200i.u. We had three follicles at the ten day scan - two that were 1.7 &1.9 and a smaller one about 1.4. So we held off ovulation for two days, then did the trigger.

I really am out though, I honestly can't take this, I am so, so sick. I've not been able to work for most of the month, the headaches are severe 24/7, and I can't function at all. It is horrific and I'm just not coping. Maybe I'll feel different in a few months but right now there's no way I'll ever do this again.

Good luck to everyone & fingers crossed that there are a lot of BFP's coming up for you all

Ermmmm I might have already POAS this morning so yes fingers were itchy at 8dpo
No prizes for guessing what the result was lol. I knew there was no chance but I've got so many of those darned things I just figured what the hell, it could be a freakishly early bfp. Wishful thinking.... I'll probably pull it out of the bin when I get home and check it again too

@Leisylou gee wiz, that sounds really awful and I really don't think many IVF ladies go through that amount of discomfort (although I'm sure some do). otherwise we would all be off work and/or sacked. Every woman reacts differently to the drugs. If you were to do another cycle I'm sure they would change the protocol to help you out. Or you could try another doctor/clinic.

I really hope this your BFP so you don't have to worry about doing another.
