    Default Experiences with HyCoSy?

@brooke29579 is having trouble with her phone and wants to know:

My phone is just not playing the game and I don't have access to a pc for a few days. I was just wanting people's experiences with their hycosy procedure? I have major anxiety over this procedure and knowing the ins and outs and personal opinion helps settle me! Thanks

I haven't had a HyCoSy but I have had a HSG and lipiodol flush which I believe is very similar except done with X-ray rather than ultrasound. I read all these horror stories online, so by the day I was having it I was so nervous and worked up I cried and DH took the morning off work to come with me But the procedure was actually fine in the end! I took a couple of nurofen about 45 mins beforehand, and I think it really helped minimise the cramping. The most uncomfortable part was inserting the catheter, and then after that when they injected the fluid it felt like fullness and pressure, but nothing terrible. It was over really fast, and then I went straight back to work no worries. I won't lie, it was a yucky feeling, and not much fun, but it wasn't dreadful by any means. Is there anything about it that's worrying you in particular or you want to know about?

Mine was a few years ago now when undergoing fertility investigations. Got myself stressed over it but it was quick and straightforward

I had it done under a twilight anaesthetic so I felt/remember nothing. I had no discomfort afterwards though I did take a couple of panadol to be sure. Very short time in recovery with something to eat/drink then home

Thank you iphart! And thanks for the replies girls. I'm anxious over the whole procedure, unfortunately I am a massive needle phone, and am incredibly queasy... So this whole process is really stressful for me! I know I'll get better as I go along, but I find the more educated I am the better I feel!

So it's relatively quick and just uncomfortable, not excruciating? And you bounced back quickly?

    Thanks ladies! xx
