    Default MKR - Mother/son random Q

Not sure about everyone else, but Rose and Josh are one of the most intriguing cooking pairs on the show to me.

Their bond is so genuine and mature and doesn't seem to be neurotic or clingy.
Josh is very mature for 18.

A question for all you mums with sons - how do you think this relationship was cultivated so respectfully? This is entirely speculation as we don't know them at all, so I'm really just looking for insights/guesses as to how much would be Josh's nature vs Rose's nurture.
If I have a son I would love to have a close bond (not a clingy "mummy's boy" though) and atm I'm thinking Rose is some sort of super-mum to have raised Josh to be so mature and respectful...
He doesn't seem like the kind of teenager who sits on his iPad all day, blocking out the world!

Does anyone have a similar bond with their son? If so, how did you do it?

I didn't watch the show but I'm wondering if the dad has been around? Sometimes I see these mother son relationships when the mum is single.

I thought this when I watched it too,
Josh said something about how his mum worked so hard to raise him, never did anything for herself and sacrificed a lot for him.
Made me think maybe the dad isn't in the picture

I thought he was very charismatic and mature for his age. I am going to put my 2 cents in though and say I think a huge part of it is nature though. I'm not diminishing his mothers role whatsoever but I think you need to have that nature to begin with, IYKWM?

Mmm I thought he was border line clingy and she seemed to rely on him way to much - lovely , genuine guy and we are only seeing little bits of their lives but too me I just worry the poor young guy is taking on the responsibility of looking after his mum - which is fine but I just hope he has a life of his own !

Just read an article - Rose isn't a single mum, but her and Josh do all the cooking at home because he had a love for it at an early age.

I guess if you have a similar innate passion for something that one of your parents has, you get that bond and closeness. Still, lots of mother/daughter pairs on MKR haven't been that close and respectful...one girl last year spoke terribly to her mother.

In Josh's case maybe it's passion he was born with as well as good manners taught to him.

Whatever the mix, he turned out well and I hope my son turns out the same way!
